The Most Overrated Guitarist of All Time

Jimi Hendrix is the most overrated guitarist ever. His fans proclaim that he was an innovator, amongst other things, which he wasn't. Everything Hendrix did, he got from other guitarists. Pete Townshend, Muddy Waters, etc. come to mind. Besides, there are other styles of music, not just Rock. Hendrix cannot be compared to players such as Marty Friedman, Yngwie Malmsteen, Jason Becker, Dave Mustaine, Chet Atkins, Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, etc.

Do you know that SRV played a '59 Strat, outfitted with jumbo bass frets? DO YOU? Do you know that his action was so high that other players wouldn't even attempt to play his guitars? Do you know his high E was a .013? DO YOU? You think your little metal gods could even HOPE to do what they do on SRV's Strats? WELL??

Validate? I don't seek validation. If I did, it certainly wouldn't be from an inexperienced, myopic child like you. And yeah, SRV, Danny Gatton, Joscho Stephan...Those guys are REAL simple. Oh, but back to the subject at hand, which, of course, is Hendrix. You STILL haven't answered the question...How is it that in a 3 year span, Hendrix wrote, played, and recorded more music than any of the players to whom you listen?
