Did anyone think that maybe the bats are there because people have destroyed all of their habitat? The bats should be welcomed to the gardens as an attraction! The bats are killing the trees by roosting in them? Easily solved..... plant more trees. I would have thought the bats would be generally helping the plants as bat guano is one of the best fertilizers on the planet....
What a great idea lets drive the last little bit of wildlife we have in the city out by scaring them with loud noise....
I thought people at the botanic gardens would appreciate trees. Did they stop to think that flying foxes are one of the major pollinators and seed dispersers of Australians native trees?
These bats live in the heart of the city
Amongst the daily clamour of traffic and construction noise
Perhaps the most noisiest spot in the city
Does anyone expect that industrial sounds will have any effect on them whatsoever?
Plus when i go to the gardens
its to take a brake from noise
The last thing i want is to be disturbed by a bunch of work for dole people banging bin lids and ringing bells
There is an easy way to repel the bats without harm or fuss

"Vandals of the animal variety" wtf?
The botanic gardens should be focusing on the flora and fauna of Australia not spending money/time on statues...
