  • why on earth is this so badly edited? Do we really need to see nearly ten minutes of driving to his house?

  • @luckywood

If you hold security clearances and want to contact Le Carre to vent your spleen or earth a lightning bolt of charged frustration, without alerting the authorities via echelon, a dead letter drop of documents or personal visit to John's coastal home is now all the more accessible.

  • @luckywood You miss the point. Now you know where Le Carre lives, he is more accessible. How do you think he comes up with his story lines and research without member of the intelligence comunity dropping in unannounced?

  • @mercuryrazvedka Taking this awfully personally, aren't you? Are you his mom or something?

  • @luckywood Reading him has always given me the same feeling. He falls somewhere between Len Deighton and Hegel for opaquely-written genre fiction.

  • Nice ... I's cursing myself not to be good at Russian(?). I was introduced to him through "The Little Drummer Girl". Since than I am a Le Carré's great fan. Though I have read almost the whole Agatha Cristie's work Le Carré is far away better. His work leaves a lasting impression. I have George Smiley, Peter Guillam, Connie, Karla and others characters deeply portraited in my mind.

    Thanks, mercury

  • @ZachClooney It is shown in part 2. But only the room. We should have got to see the table.

  • Le Carre talks about his work area. But why wasn't it shown here?

  • @luckywood Agree. The actual and relevant footage starts at 7:10.

  • Inspiring!
