@legandarykiller1000 what the hell kind of stupid question is that? NOTHING IS FREE. of course they have to pay. the Military signs contracts with these companies for orders. They will put an order in for 10,000 acog scopes but they get them around 100$ a scope, ya feel me?

If you think about it, with no batteries and a life of 12 years, it's like paying $100 a year for a good ass scope.. less than $8 a month!

I'd like to see a mount for an Aimpoint T-1 paired with an ACOG. It would be a little bulky, but you don't have to worry about bettery life with either. Turn the T-1 on and leave it until you need it. Slap it on a rifle with a Redi-mag and you have a complete package. When are you ever going to have time to put your cute little "tac-vest" on anyway? If you need a rifle for a defensive situation, you need it right now, not in the five minutes it takes the tacticool crown to "suit up".
