BTW, I was almost arrested 4 years ago or so while metal detecting in national forest area, not even digging just detecting. A game warden caught me and almost confiscated everything whern I told him I was hunting meteorites, went on to tell me its fully illegal!
Again, why is this aspect never mentioned? As far as I can tell any artifact from the ground is the property of the Smithsonian or the archeological dept..
Interesting the news never mentions this nor do metal detector companies.
Makes a great show but go ahead and buy a metal detector then go out onto some BLM public land and risk your freedom! Hunting, detecting then digging and collecting is illegal in most states.
And why do these TV programs never discuss or even mention these laws? And before you people beat me up on this I am an amateur astronomer for over 20 years and have observatory involvement, connections and still get these answers even for me... So how is any of this legal?
hay men great job i have a meteor too can you help me sell it?chek youtube 'meteor on sale' and see my meteor with human face shape shadow ok help me please

They are all different and worth different prices, the rarer it is, the more expensive. Some are worth less than $10.00 per gram.
