You're an idiot. Racer X only began happening in the early 80's after Paul Gilbert went to G.I.T, graduated then became a teacher there. They only began recording in 1985 when Paul was 19 and released their debut album in 1986. Besides, that series of Matchbox toys were based on the anime speed racer. Racer X is one of the toys created from the anime speed racer. The owner of matchbox is Mattel.

They got the name through the anime, not the toys.
