I'm so glad I found this video! Thanks for posting it :) I'm not very good at drawing backgrounds, but I wanted something other than just plain white. Now I know how to make a very light wash behind my drawing!
Just one question though, could this technique be used for acrylics or oils as well or would it just run together and turn into one big mess?

Is the paper tilted forward at the bottom or the top?

It's tilted from the top - I place a small block of wood under the top edge of the board to raise it up 2-3 inches. Hope that helps, Bob.
