@horatiovitero He is talking about US troop involvement which is the point of his speech. US combat troops were deployed in 1965. From Wikipedia :" On 8 March 1965, 3,500 U.S. Marines were dispatched to South Vietnam. This marked the beginning of the American ground war" This is where the majority of the casuaties came from and why the war was so hated. Also per wikipedia: U.S. military involvement ended on 15 August 1973 as a result of the Case–Church Amendment passed by the U.S. Congress.
