They used a similar design for the SEGA Saturn backup cartridge. Those things are solid, love 'em.

The Genesis definitely looks like an interesting system. Unfortunately, I only ever owned 1 spaceship shooter (Xevious The Avenger for GBA) and I hated it. Couldn't stand it so I gave it to a friend who gave it to his grandpa. So if the Genesis's main claim to fame is spaceship shooters, I don''t think it woulda been my cup of tea. But it's a moot point since I turned 10 in 2001, and by then Sega hardware was finished.

@WhyBeAre Yeah, My genesis collection is fairly competent, and almost none of them have boxes. In the 90's, nobody knew they were going to be collector's items, and everyone just threw them away and stacked their cartridges on the shelf.

@AMYuntold The kind who is only able to find just the cartridges when they buy the games. Seriously a lot of people threw away their boxes and about roughly half of my fairly small Genesis collection do not have boxes. I mean yeah it would be awesome to always have the box, but it's simply not always possible.
That 16 bit walk must be awesome.

7 minutes of cartridge design? Only CGR can make this actually interesting!
