"Shogun" Rua is a force at light heavyweight in the UFC. What's next for the new champ? Does he get the winner of Rashad Evans and Quinton Jackson? Should Machida, the winner of their first fight, get an immediate rematch? What about Anderson Silva? Yahoo! Sports' Kevin Iole and Steve Cofield break down the 205 scenarios

  • Rua was saying he wanted to fight Couture. I don't see that as a fight people care to see. But its smart for Shogun since its a pretty safe fight and Couture is one of the biggest names. I wouldnt pay for it though. I would love to see Rua vs Silva

  • @mikelin23 I am counting him out. He isn't as washed up as liddell but he is a shell of his old self. Wins over toney and coleman are hardly inspiring. However Couture is definitely king of the senior circuit!!

  • @chilly162 never count randy out. no one gave him a chance against tim sylvia and he picked him apart

  • @chilly162 You may look at it as being "smart" on shogun's part and it could very well be smart for him to do that. However, Many, including me, may not see it that way. This move resembles more of a cowardly (Just one man's opinion) move more so than a SMART ONE. But, you can certainly look at it that way as you obviously already do. No way Couture gets a shot over the top 3 or 4 guys at 205 anyway so that really just nullifies that argument.

  • @kanguesso Its definitely smart on Shoguns part. Obv not a fight most fans want to see. But if you held the belt you would want to hold onto it for as long as possible. right? Couture is a big name and its a fight Rua will probably win. How is that not smart on Shoguns part? Big fight, big money, and lower risk.

  • @chilly162 I don't get why a newly crowned Champ who beat a guy like Machida in devastating fashion would call out a 58 year old has been for his first tittle defense. I don't know about you, but smart is actually not the first word that comes to my mind. And i'll tell you something else, the 205 Tittle will be changing hands back and forth for a while. I don't care how dominant fighters may seem to be. That's just a testament to how stacked and unpredictable that division is.

  • steve cofield has such a stupid , annoying face.

  • "The Blood puffed up" that makes perfect sense to a 5 year old I'm sure.

"Machida took a big beating"? 3 punches ended the fight, thats not a beating.

Shogun will never bee the same, his knees are shot, he will wilt by age 30 at this rate.

Shogun is now comfortable in the octagon, he will own the title for a while.

Machida was scared from the get go and Shogun was ready to end the fight fast.

  • @dtanktdtank

look at their styles dumbass rampage will get his leg kicked to the third row if they fought again

  • gives a cheeser, you always look depressed mouse boy
