This is SPSV's Jazz Tech 09's very first performance, "God Only Knows", arranged by The Real Group and made famous by The Beach Boys.
This was also a command performance at the St. Helena Jazz Festival 2009.
Jazz Tech was one of the top two best groups in the festival, earning them a trophy.
Out of tune . No chance .

I like some of the jazz changes they used. A bit spotty at times but I enjoyed it.

I'm sorry, but the second vocalist made me cringe, plus the wierd arangment messed with me, I'm a fan of changing up songs, but at least keep it close to the original. The male vocalists were spot on, but the female main vocalist was just awful. I think you guys have a good chance of being awsome if you clean it up a bit. The lead famale vocalist is what really ruined it for me though.

I really like this arrangement; it would've been better with a tiny bit more jazz voicings for the chords so as to not confuse us, but still sticking to some of the major parts of the song that keep it sounding Beach Boys. Yes the female soloist was off a little; she should have a bit more control in her upper range and not try to strain, but I actually didn't think I could like this song arranged to include female voices; only male falsetto

Some minor intonation issues from the female soloists rather sharp at times and hot in the mix to boot. Overall a nice sound from the ensemble proper however. Nice job overall and one of the better versions to be found on YT.

I have a feeling this would have sounded alot better off-mic. It sounds to me like the group usually rehearses off-mic and thus there were some issues with balancing the right tonality with vocal colume and mic placement for the proper mix with the amplified sound. It's alot better then I would expect though. Maybe you guys rehearse with mics more then i think. I think either way, it should be done more often. maybe even while learning, so you can be extremely comfortable with the mics.
