ARE Tasmanian Tour - Easter 2002 - Part3

Over Easter 2002, the Association of Railway Enthusiasts ran a tour to Tasmania with the Don River Railway.

Part 3 of this series features a day trip from Hobart to Westerway on the Derwent Valley line and return. At Westerway, the Don River Railway train was combined with a Derwent Valley Railway train for the run back to New Norfolk

Umm what happened to the views of the towns and country-side??thats what train rides are about are they not,the easy ride and the unspoilt views.

This video is aimed at Railway enthusiasts, hence there are views of the trains and stations. However, it does feature plenty of views out the window of the countryside the train passes through.

OK just trains try the Mary Valley Rattler it does a monthly trip from Gympie to Imbil once a month i think now. Great sound as it goes through the tunnel just past the farm i grew up on near Hyne and sons sawmill at Melawondi Rd.Old steamer great noise but (since i grew up there)nothing much to see but pine trees and pineapple farms. keep up the good clips though.
