I actually teared up really bad when the lyrically meaning of this song suddently hitted me; I recognice painfully much of my past in this track, I haven't been so touched by music for very long. Magic. I must see them live sometime, no matter the cost.
Fucking brilliant video. I love the blurred night shots. It visually shows what I think of when I hear No-Man's music...
...They're my favorite band to listen to whenever I go to LA (about once a month or so), because their sound reflects the numbness and the distant coldness of the southern California lifestyle, but also its misunderstood and beautiful energy.
I have every No-Man CD now, and they're all 4-5 star works of art.
I purchased returning jesus first.. wow, aamazing record, then schoolyard ghosts, which i dont think is as good. But i have just ordered flowemouth. Would you say that flowermouth is their best record? is it just electro pop?
It haves familiar elements such as Piano Loops, but not exactly electro pop. There are some amazing Saxophone, flute and violin parts, a great blend of music, great lyrics that recalls introspection, it's not as nostalgic as Schoolyard Ghosts, but it is intense, as all no-man Music. A good choice for buying mate. PS: Returning Jesus is good, but, i feel "Schoolyard Ghosts" more atmospheric/dramatic, specially atmospheric. I like that in music. Maybe that's why i prefer more "SG" than "RJ".
but this is Tim with Steven... we are all gifted in one way or fashion~...this is No-Man and in and of itself please pay recognition to them & this song..here..what a beauty of a song. regardless of who the collaborators are..one must listen to this song at least ....20 times for the song itself remains genius
