Tune - Lord of the Years by Michael Baughen. The words for this hymn were written by Timothy Dudley-Smith for the centenary of The Scripture Union in 1967 to be sung to the tune of Finlandia by Sibelius. It appeared in Youth Praise II in 1969 with this tune by Baughen
You're fast becoming my new hero! What a great selection of hymns. This was sung when one of our previous bishops laid up his staff,he's no longer with us so this hymn always reduces me to tears.

@swanstoon I'm glad you like the postings. There's a bit of theme to them as one of my mates at work said he didn't think there were any good hymn tunes written in the twentieth century. This is rather to prove that there are lot of great twentieth century tunes, some of which I think should be much better known. I'm not very keen on some of the rather slushy stuff written in the late nineteenth century.
