Rop reu at Bani-bani

Topping (rop reu) of tribal house (rop reu) at Bani-bani is important to unite the three main tribes at the area. There tribes are Fio Manuinfaif, Unsain Fantoni, and Eutbaun Manubnain, as well as protecting the forest and the forbidden spring which is the source for fishes, prawns and eels. This forbidden spring hasn't been touch by human for ages and considered sacred by all the Bani-bani communities.

The topping of lopo was done in 8days and 9 nights by people who brought only corn as food and drank water from from young coconut. The topping is done once every three years and females are not permitted to go closer to the sacred spring.

The shooting of this video was done from a few hundred meters since no modern equipment are allowed near to the forbidden house (lopo pemali).
