The "Donna Lee" changes originally appeared as the chord changes for "Back Home In Indiana" AKA "Indiana" but is more widely associated with "Donna Lee" written by either Charlie Parker or Miles Davis, depending on who you ask. They are a great set of changes to learn how to navigate in order to prep yourself for rhythm changes because the harmonic functions are very similar but they move along at a slower rate.

  • I've got the theme down to a reasonable tempo, but this kind of bebop soloing has always been a bit o much for me, I haven't got those chops yet, but hope I will with practice! Thanks for the vid and ideas, gonna try to pick up some of them and turn them into my own vocabulary!
