One documentary I saw said that lions have a difficult time hunting during the day because their manes cause them to overheat. It's weird that two people disliked this.

This is usual behavoir the male lion is a much better hunter than lionesses but sometimes his mane gives him away,especialy old males as it doesnt blend being black

And some people say that male lions don't hunt, when they actually participate at every night hunt. It's easy for the males to hunt at night because their bigger size and mane no longer gives them away as it does during the day.
