Live at Voss, May 2009.
Norwegian avantgarde pioneer Sidsel Endresen has defined and re-defined vocal sound since her breakthrough in the early 1980s. She has done several recordings for ECM and Jazzland, and is now working on a new solo album for the latter. Sidsel Endresen has worked with a vast number of musicians - in Norway and abroad, written music for film, theatrical productions as well as other commissioned work. She continues to be of huge inspiration to young vocalists (and improvisers in general!) around the globe.
A generation younger - saxophonist Hakon Kornstad is currently establishing himself on the European scene. On his first fully-fledged album "Single Engine" (Jazzland 2007) he started his journey in sound, exploring all kinds of techniques on the saxophone, but never losing the melody and soul. After two years of extensive touring, he is now out with a new album, "Dwell Time", recorded in the Sofienberg Church in Oslo.
