They should have brought along the Range Rover Evoque as well, to show how it would cope off-road.

@weneedtodosomething You clearly haven't been off roading in the UK then. Scotland is like this but worse conditions i.e mud. It's great fun especially in Discovery 4. Awesome engineering with soul.

@ruuman I agree...Evoque is bling for example...Defender is the LR workhorse...but the design has not changed much since 1949...lol... I think if they build them better add some of the disco 4 features such as hill descent and air suspension...all done though the little control, + add more airbags and a new interior and hey presto defender would be even better. Thats just my view. I believe they are having to upgrade the defender because it does not meet EU safety laws... lack of airbags etc..

@weneedtodosomething really noise, is a soft-top too. The disco 3/4 is a cracking car a few of my friends use them for towing and general use, best car land rover has produced, just amazing at everything. Almost reliable too :-)

Not sure about that DC100 concept, looks pretty crap to me. I'm all for a new defender, owned and lived with them for years and know the short comings. But just don't want another bling machine, need a practical workhorse.
