Hail! O Sun of Shining Love!

A hymn created and performed by myself, Petri Tikka. It happens to have some themes in it related to Christmas. I wrote the words and composed it in the beginning of this month, November 2009. I am sorry for the sound quality, I have to get a new sound card or something. :-)

Hail! O Sun of shining love!
You descended from above,
Gave your radiance to earth
By becoming dark through birth.

Word! You rule the universe,
In your sound can all immerse,
All can hear you, yours is all,
When you came must silence fall.

For you silence all our sins,
Darkness takes you, yet light wins,
For your Love is everything,
In harsh judgment grace takes wing.

Hail! O Might of living Love!
Like a snake, yet like a dove,
You are cunning in your fight,
So to scatter falsehood's light.

Truth! Yes, you are more than thought.
You make all temptation nought.
Jesus Christ, you are my Rock.
Joy eternal you unlock.

Father, Son and Spirit high,
Make my soul and spirit fly,
Bless my body with your care,
Keep me yours here, everywhere!

Päivä meille koitti jo:
syntyessä huomenen
peitti pimeys kirkkauden.

Sointisi on määrätön -
kaikuu, kuuluu kaikille.

Hirmuvalta hiljenee,
synnin yö jo hälvenee,

Käärme, silti kyyhkynen,

Thank you! When I made this hymn, I wasn't thinking about Christmas, yet it ended up being something of a Christmas song in words and melody.
