  • @thosedreams That's a Somogyi Modified Dreadnaught crafted by the legendary Ervin Somogyi. It's current worth about 30,000 dollars.

  • If Mr. Donohue ever performs/ teaches anywhere around New England area, I will make every attempt to be there. Ever since I heard him on PHC... He defines the essence of fingerstyle/ Tremendous Stuff.

  • nice stache too

  • very very nice, you blended calypso, jazz and country so well man hats off to yuh

  • I can sit here all day and keep pressing replay and repay and replay ! simply beautiful !!!!...

  • and i keep coming back to listen to this...

  • beautiful ... simply amazing !

(does anyone know the make and model of the guitar he is playing?)

  • He's an amazing instructor. He teaches a week long fingerstyle jazz course at Swannonoa Gathering in Ashville, NC during the summer. He started with a I IV V chord song and taught how to build jazz chords on it and into it and then some AMAZING stuff. A WHOLE YEARS worth of work in 1 week.

  • He is awesome. He came to my univesrity while I was there years back, and gave a couple hour master course. I came out thinking I can't play the guitar at all, this guy is amazing.

  • This would be considered a master class. It is a bravura performance. I am humbled and awed.

It's funny. I love the tune and am a big fan of Pat's from his work on Prairie Home Companion. I grabbed my guitar and sat down in front of the pc ready to learn it.

When I hit play, I listened for a minute and just started laughing out loud. I realized I was a bit over-confident to think I was gonna sit down and get a handle on it right quick. This is advanced.
