  • This interesting video fails to get to what I feel is the heart of this whole debate and that is the revulsion we all feel at the nature of modern day industrial corporation driven agri-business. Traditional farmers have a relationship with their animals tinged with affection and respect and some sorrow. The farmers I know--albeit European farmers--are still like that. It is a kind of relationship that urban and suburban people do not have in their lives and cannot easily imagine.

  • @CobinRain I totaly agree that corproate agri business is not very ethical. Geneticaly modified salmon comes to mind along with some needlesly painful methods of slaughter, mostly from kosher slaughter houses. Not surprisingly religion makes a bad situation even worse for the animals. However I would like to point out that those farmers you know--albeit European farmers still slaughter, sell, and eat their animals. And why not, it's perfectly natural.

  • Your so sexist and dumb ..

  • @MissCupyCake1 By calling me sexist I can only imagine you refer to my recognition of the fact that in the early hunter gatherer society the evolutionary role of women was in the capacity of the gatherer. Unless you have evidence that shows women were the traditional hunters, taking down Mamoths with powerful thrusts of their stone tipped spears. Stating fact does not make me sexist. Make an actual argument before you call someone dumb.

  • It is not a choice to eat meat humans ARE Omnivores. It is a choice not to eat meat.

Anyone that makes the daft argument about the inefficiency of eating meat is in denial. It is true we can live without eating meat but why would anyone do that if they choose not to?

    Do vegetarians hate plants?

  • actually most of my vegetarians are male not female actually. So i think depending on the type of friends prefer, rather then sexes.

  • Try watching Earthlings and actually learning about the conditions of factory farming and where your food ACTUALLY COMES FROM. instead of relying on your preferences and justifying them without any new or outside information.

  • @lithjimmy The Expensive Tissue Hypothesis, has been disproven. In other words, the idea that meat allowed us to grow smart, has been disproved. This is no longer a valid arguement against veganism and or vegetarianism or for meat eating. Look up the study by Navarrete.

  • Your argument for diet prefernce is extremely poor. to attribute sexual preferences for diet, implies a genetic disposition to diet preference that is chromosomal somehow, for which there is absolutely no evidence, and makes no logical sense. Women, happen to be more empathetic of others suffering, unlike men, who are more selfish and ego-driven. For this reason, if anything, women empathize with the suffering of other creatures in factory farms, and choose not to partake. FYI, I'm a vegan male.

  • @insightnew The situation in America may be worse than you think. Over here GM agriculture is illegal and there is huge public support for that. I dont see it coming to us anytime soon. In the UK the organisations that monitor such things are independent of the political sphere and by and large can be trusted. What is so scary in the US is that government, many politicians are in pocket of monsanto and co. Remember how the Supreme court ruled that GM foods did not need to be labeled?

  • Fact: The eating of meat allowed our primate ancestors to grow larger brains. It you don't believe that, study Homo Habalis.

Now, that doesn't mean we still need to eat meat. We don't NEED to eat meat, but I do.

everything aside, this is an excellent video. excellent argument.. I don't agree with everything you say, but I respect it for the most part.

  • @hemiller65 COMPLETE AGREEMENT!!!

  • @outdoorsman715 And thank you. Keep up the real world mentality. Hunt to live, live to hunt.
