As a recovering alcoholic, this song is the most powerful piece I have ever heard. I break down everytime I hear it--it tells my story. I speak regularly hear in CT to second-time DUI offenders, and I am going to start playing this song as a part of my story. Our local radio station played this song and listeners voted to not have it played on the radio, as others did accross the country, because of the controversy and meaning of the song-- makes people feel sad. What a sad world we live in!

Thanks for all of the comments guys. This video took me a long time to make, because I had to learn the words, and get the timing right...It's amazing that it's the only one when this is such a powerful song. The line where he says he couldn't swerve or stop, that gets to me because he probably could have. My fiance and I almost got into an accident on our way to school a few days ago, and he did his best to save our lives, but ended up hitting a light pole. Nothing is impossible...

i lost my lil brother to a drunk driver he was only 2yrs. and he was sitten on my porc and got hit...if you drink and drive shame on you...

Wow, I'm so sorry. I have little kids in my family that are 2 and I'd be devastated if I lost them. My sister and her kids live with me right now and I know if I lost any of them, no matter how much I say I hate them, I'd be crushed if they died...You're in my thoughts!

This is a great song, a pity it isnt very popular but its true, people shouldnt drink and drive, and if this happened for real it would be a real lesson for the driver.

This is the only video of this song - thank you so much for making it. I heard this on the radio a long long time ago, once. Once - then it seemed like the world tried to mute it. I only heard it once since then because I looked it up and knew every word. It made such an impact on me those two times I heard it. There are way to many instances such as this. Don't drink and drive. Those of you getting sober - thank you, you're not only making a difference in your life but others as well.

As a recovering addict and alcoholic this song hits home..there is no telling how many times i was out there driving like that!! This couldve been me and it hurts to think i couldve took someones life because of my stupidity but for the grace of GOD i have 9 months of sobriety today! I now use my time to help others wanting recovery!! Thank you lisa shaffer for this awesome song!!!

This song gives me chills every time I hear it! I came within centimeters of hitting a young girl a couple of year ago, she ran out infront of me and I only just stopped in time. The only reason I was driving was that my boyfriend has had a drink and I wouldn't let him drive (he would still have been 'legal' but I'm more strict)...every time I hear this it makes think 'what if I'd let him drive?'. It also make me glad I didn't let him drive!

this song is so sad...its the first song that came to mind when a drunk driver put a friend in the hospital (20 years old) and killed another(18 years old)...please dont drink and drive because thats u taking a chance to take the lives of others..its something that u will relive everyday....stay safe!!!

I lost my sister to a 5x offender the 5th resulted in the death of my older sister who will forever be 22 and my little sister was servilely injured. He got 7 years and got out last year. When i first heard this song I balled my eyes out thinking out my sister. I hope that man will relive everyday knowing he gets to live while my sister lies in a grave because of him.
