Make it all out of bedrock or obsidian, but keep the pyramid with a large TNT setup. You may want to make the place bigger and setup some presents around so they get a little helping hand.

Very cool, i would say change the layout of the room different, and end a round or series of rounds with a creeper attack so that if the field gets destroyed you have a reason to change the layout.
