Fiddling around with Haiku OS. Doing a bit of this and that. Installed on hard drive (not a VM) and I gotta say that it's pretty damn fast. Recorded using BeScreenCapture. Edited with kdenlive in opensuse 11.2.

Running on asus m2a-vm mobo and a athlon 64 X2 4000+. Sound didn't work when I ran it, but that's to be expected when few vendors will release drivers for an obscure OS like this.

  • Heh, couldn't help to catch a glimpse of a folder named "Porn" :P

  • @Xeon3D and you'd be right. Every man has to have his stash somewhere.

  • @tearsofash Don't generalize. I dont have porn in my computer, i dont need this. If I need sex, i do a real sex, not a virtual one. Why be seeing an unknown man fucking a bitch (that you/I never will know/fuck) having sex? Not have logical in this. Dont be a pevert man.

Defensive much? Chill out, it's just a few dudes joking about something a majority of males tend to do.

  • Haiku -- recreating an operating system 11 years out-of-date, and it shows. I loved BeOS in it's day, but that was the year 2000. Haiku just doesn't feel like a modern operating system. And 11 years was time enough for me to brush up on linux commands, as well as enough time for linux to become more user-friendly and media friendly. The appeal of Haiku now is completely nostalgic, there's just so much basic stuff it can't do.

No, has its own file system (BFS from BeOS file system), hybrid kernel. I've tried to run it on my pc, but my x86-64 is not supported, can run on x86-32 though like a dream. It loads, boots, and whatnot, but the graphical interface is screwy. Also, supports WEP rather than WPA configuration. It's very capable though, and fast.

Not sure about the windows apps, perhaps, i never got that far because the background was skewed making it impossible to navigate. Probably not as versatile

  • @Bl4lock Haha.

  • @Bl4lock Clone myself? Ha. I would love to have a clone, we would have a LOT of fun, especially in bed.HAHAHAHAHA.

  • @Bl4lock Go buy windows and install it.

  • @godsucksmyballs Coming from the person with "suck my balls" in their username...
