Experimental video on meeting with Tom Waits. (All original images and sounds.)

"It was in the city of Philadelphia, and it was back in the year of 1975. And I was a new shooter in town - crystal methamphetamine - speed kills. 'We love your photos, we'd like to hire you to shoot a musician named Tom.' Tom what's-his-name, it was at some dive there in Philly. I got all dressed up, wanted to look sharp - and I put on my pretty, yellow shoes. 'Yeah, I'm Tom, shoot a game of pool?', but I saw him checking out my shoes, from the corner of his eye. 'Sure Brother, I'll shoot a game with you.' Don't call me brother! Because the minute I turned my back you'd steal my watch!' He just didn't like my shoes. But things sometimes take a little time to be appreciated. So I just crossed my legs, and have Tom what's-his-name, have a good long look, at my - my pretty, yellow, shoes." - Jack

  • this is great stuff. this is the good stuff.

  • Aren't the Ramones given credit for starting new wave and punk (?) - good to see you back - hope you weren't on the road to damnation, again! Thanks for commenting John!

  • I was on the road -just got back. The editing fits the video real nice. Yellow shoes- sounds almost like Zappa. In the mid-1980's I hung out with Dee Dee Ramone a couple of times.(was the bass player for the Ramones) Small world huh. The Tom Waits voice you do is almost perfect. Nice job.
