John Tindall demonstrates a Helmholtz Resonance Chamber where standing sound waves are used to levitate a foam cup. Three speakers emit a 600 hertz tone through wave guides controlling the x - y & z positions within the chamber.

  • Very nice! What is the theoretical limit of mass that 3 600hertz tones can lift?

  • @doughauf There pretty common-place in a lot OE stock vehicle exhaust systems. (Although they wont make cups levitate)

    The areoturbine muffler used a helmholtz chamber design.
