David is a bit wrong saying he never was originally wanting to link up Austria, yes he was - he even says in his book Mein Kampf, he was an Austrian German himself by birth and always considered Austria as part of Germany, him and most other Nazis promoted the Greater Germany idea.

@ThreeToMakeTwo - 'Hitler forever transformed..' - yes, I suppose taking the long view that may be true. '.. weak-willed alcoholics..' - interesting point; at variance with the idea held by peppery British majors of a 'great game' against the Russian land empire. A lot of Britons were pleased with Russians being enslaved and massacred by Jews - it's one reason there was co-operation in hiding it.
