When ice is put under pressure, its melting point decreases. When that pressure is removed it goes back to being solid. This process is known as 'regelation'. In this experiment regelation of ice is attempted with copper wire and fishing line of the same diameter. Which will pass through the ice first?

  • umm shouldnt this be part 1, not part 2?

  • @Morophin3 I did another video first called "Regelation of Ice"

  • There are no links at the end. Please please stop doing two part videos, just pause for a second. What possible advantage can two videos have over one?

  • @andyhayne are there no links because you have disabled annotations? Or are you watching on a mobile device? You can always click 'Regelation Comparison' for the answer. The advantage is that studies have shown people remember more when forced to make a prediction before observing a demo. Then you have more of a vested interest in the outcome.

  • Post the answer, please..!!

  • @juanpedro19840914 It IS posted - click one of the links at the end of the video -- or watch 'Regelation Comparison'

  • Wouldn't the copper wire transfer more heat from the ice melting it faster?

  • is this why when you freeze a bottle of beer it is liquid, then you open it and it turns to ice?
