Dan and Rorschach over the years. Despite their many differences, there's a certain quality to them that makes them kindred spirits; they both struggle to maintain their (separate brands of) idealism and to protect those who need protecting, which is what made them partners to begin with. Over time, their attitudes change, but there's still a bond there and the potential to inspire and bring out the best (or worst) in each other. Also: could be slash if you want to see it (but could be not slash if you don't).

@ChaosTheDawn You mean with the older Nite Owl getting beaten up? That was a deleted scene. Same for the watchmen meeting where Dan holds Rorschach back and then adjusts his trench collar (1:38). You can probably just search wachmen deleted scenes and some of those up. There are a handful of them. I thought the one with Nite Owl I dying was particularly good and maybe should have stayed in the final cut.
