When Ronald Reagan took office on January 20, 1981, our nation was facing a terrible economic crisis, similar to what we are experiencing today. This video contains excerpts of Reagan's first inaugural address. His prescription to solve the economic crisis was vastly different than the policies being pursued by the Obama administration. In the words of George Santayana, those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

  • @666bushisnazi666 Warren Buffet is a liar and a tax cheat, so why should we believe anything he says... he probably does pay less but by cheating the tax system not because anything he says about him paying less is true.

  • Yes, the unemployment rate was at an all time high 3 years into the Reagan Presidency. What was it four years later? Yes, Reagan spent a lot of money. It was called defeating the Soviet Union in the Cold War! Did the national debt increase? Yes it did! Name a President who has actually decreased the national debt since! Explain why Reagan was re-elected in the most lopsided election in US history!

  • Isn't American Idol on?? Liberals like reality after all

  • @ASH6977 On the contrary, scientific research shows fairly conclusively that conservatism is a form of mental illness highlighted by delusion and suspension of reality.

Your pitiful clap-trap is laughable attempt by the right wing noise machine at diverting attention away from that fact.

  • @garethac81 Nay my friend, he tripled the national debt!. Let's not forget about Iran-Contra either. Ronnie Raygun sold weapons to Iran, a country which calls for the destruction of the United States in it's constitution. Then he used that money to fund an illegal war in Nicaragua, in direct violation of U.S. law. I think RR was in bed with the Iranians and promised them arms if they held the hostages until after the pres. election. It was a huge campaign issue in 1980.

  • Reagan was the fastest spending president in history....compiling a massive budget deficit..he gave amnesty to millions of Mexicans with no requirements...3 years into his term he had the largest unemployment percentage to this day....why 6 weeks into Obama's term according to tools like Limbaugh is it Obama's economy yet 3 years into Reagan's term it was still Jimmy Carters fault... HYPOCRITES...pure and simple..I thought Hollywood was a democratic thing yet the GOP gives us ACTOR as President

  • @gritzschke Good one grit. Tks.

  • @gritzschke raygun and timothy mcveigh agree, government is the problem

  • @ASH6977 it's proven that conservatardism is a mental illness. the conservatards proved it themselves, and they did it with taxpayer money. w w w (dot) guardian (dot) co (dot) uk / world / 2003 / aug / 13 / usa (dot) redbox

  • raygun raised your taxes, increased the debt by 186% (way more than Clinton or Obama) but at least he legalized abortion rights when he was cali governor.

you people are grasping at puffs of smoke. the raygun you idolized never existed.
