Hi, I have been making these T bottom bags for many years and I can truly say that this is the best tutorial I have ever seen on the subject. Very well done!

You are not only a wonderful teacher, you are adorable. Since I'm old enough to be your mother, I'd like to know if you're available for adoption. Seriously: I'm ready to sew the bag with complete confidence, thanks to you.

Wow. This is one of the best tutorials I've seen, on any subject. And it's your first! Great job, so clear. TFS

I think that is so nice and when I get my sewing machine I'm going to try and make that

what if your lining has a print on it? will the print side be?

Thanks for the tutorial. I was wondering if I wanted to make the strap go all the way around the bag how would I do that (and use a lining too)?

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I've never sewed much before, only like one project in high school for sewing class. But I've been wanting to try make a bag with a flat bottom like this (only bigger) and this video makes everything soo clear!

Do the gussets make the bag any shorter?
Or do they only make the bottom wider?

@xTheAnimalsx It won't make the bag shorter if you've accounted for the gusset when drawing out the pattern. For example, if you want a bag that's about 12" x 10" when it's 'open', draw those dimensions first, and then add the gusset and seam allowances to the pattern.

Great video. You are too cool. I keep watching it. I love your teaching style. Your machine is cool too. I will be getting back into sewing, my problem is I don't understand textiles. I've been told to go with what I feel but my projects don't turn out so great. Were you using cotton and what other materials can be used for making handbags and hats? Thanks for sharing your knowledge. By the way, i'm self taught.

@jazzyblack01 Thank you! I'm using a quilter's cotton (which is usually a majority of what you'll find at most fabric stores), but you could also use something heavier like twill or canvas. Home dec fabric makes a nice sturdy bag. For bags, I'd stay away from anything stretchy or see thru... anything else is fair game. Not sure about hats, as I've never made one before!
