my first hip hop experience was the early 80's. Listening to Run Dmc Sucker MC's, Grandmaster Flash, Sugar Hill Gang, Doug E Fresh, Fat Boys,Kool Moe Dee, Busy Bee,on the radio. This was when rap was hard to find on the radio. I remember switching radio for hours just to hear sucker mc.

My first hip-hop experience had to be the Beastie Boys because Rick Rubin got them onto the rock radio stations, so us boys in the sticks could hear that city music!

What are you talking about? YouTube is nothing if not about random people. But prank calls are much more important to document than a collaborative style and music that crossed cultural and social boundaries and expanded to influence people worldwide.
