Adywans Empire Strikes Back Revisited - Luke's Rescue New Colour Comparison Clip

Here's a new comparison clip showing the differences between the official DVD and Revisited.

For some reason the overly blue image from the official release seems to have stripped the Revisited version of most of its blues, making it look a bit grey. I can assure you that it doesn't look that grey when seen on its own.

I understand that the blue filter was a recent addition not in the original, but it improves the film's look no end. Removing it is a step backwards.

It's like the removal of the spinning shot of the Falcon jumping into hyperspace, or the static shot of the new TIEs added to the end of A New Hope Revisited.

Adywan's a good technical guy, and many of his changes are interesting, but he's certainly no director.

Color grading is intentional. Please do not remove it.

Yeah, it's supposed to be getting darker, which heightens the suspense of the scene. Sometimes, seeing things in perfect clarity is not the aim of a film.

While I do agree that the blue tint that happened in the recent version of Empire needed to be fixed, I also agree with others in that the image now seems a bit too bright and sunny. Would it be possible to bring down some of those whites a bit?

Personally the scenes on Hoth should be blue because Hoth orbits a blue star.
