@snoopythebestdog1 People in PR have voted down statehood many times. I think I saw in the news a Democrat saying that statehood of PR will erode the Spanish culture of the region. You might be able to find those news clips on youtube. I saw that one right here on youtube. It seems to me that some PR's don't want statehood because of some tax issues.
