PS: F*ck that Schenker bullshit, Bolton was the real genius behind UFO !!
-
@karenpato1 - drummer and bass reminds me of the sabbath guys...same basic simple sludgey approach

the guitar sounds like a mouth organ, great like.

"UFO Live" for me is one of the best Live Albums of all times (together with Lynyrd Skynyrd's "One more from the road" and Thin Lizzy's "Live 'n dangerous"). It's unsophisticated, raw and full of power.

Band kicks ass though

@NoggaNewt - I like fat 70s bass. I dont like modern metals sharp trebley grinding bass that you can barely hear because the guitars drown it out.

@progjazzfusion na that ain't 70's bass. thats poorly EQ'd and poorly mic'd flubb. i hate treble-y bass too. its just this particular recording.

@NoggaNewt - well the bass sound is similar to geezer butlers of the era. this show is known for it's excellent sound production and gear, not "poor" by any means. What you are hearing is more likely a combination of things like dead flatwound strings, his personal playing style, and small 12" speakers in the amp cab he's using, as often the amps+spk cabs they used on this program for bass were the same 4x12 orange cabs+amps as the guitarist used. I see sennheiser 421 mics. nice mics
