...that got cut off because my Canon SD870 IS that was capturing it ran out of power. It would have been 2 hours compressed into 4 minutes, with a picture taken every 2 seconds played back at 15 frames per second. This is only a simple teaser; I'll upload new sunset timelapses and perhaps other derivations once I successfully record better ones.
Captured January 13th, 2008 from about 3:25 PM - 4:00 PM.

"This sunset timelapse was captured on January 13th, 2008 from about 3:25 PM to 4:00 PM. My Canon SD870 IS was positioned in the upper portion of my room window facing east. Location: a suburb city near Boston, MA. The video would have been 2 hours compressed into 4 minutes, with a picture taken every 2 seconds played back at 15 frames per second. Unfortunately, my camera ran out of battery, so the minute of footage you see if all there is.
I personally love how there's two layers of clouds moving in almost opposite directions. The houses at the bottom and the trees create a great silhouette effect. People have also noticed random specks in the video. Those are actually birds flying to and from the tree on the right. Overall, beginner's luck played a big role in capturing this timelapse.
Makoto Shinkai's works, especially 5 Centimeters per Second, have really influenced my creative and artistic sides, which have been more or less suppressed due to my technical studies in school. I still aspire to record more timelapses, but a lack of time and a lack of better equipment have left me a bit unmotivated. However, I hope to change that later this year."
excellent framing, and vivid gothic colours! a light musical backing wouldn't hurt.

Agreed, background music was something I wanted to add, but I didn't have any good ideas, so I left it out. I'll keep it in mind for future time lapse videos.

why is there black spots randomly appearing on your video?

Good observation. The black spots are birds flying to and from the trees.
