@hulafever I think the best two videos of when the dresses doing this, was in her halau's Merrie Monarch's auana competition 2005, and 2004, and she shines in the 2007, love that back bend now that's muscle control.

one thing i love about this that i think most people overlook is her overall muscle control. i'm a dancer, not a hula dancer, but that's why i like watching hula... i noticed that the bottom of her skirt is at least a foot off the ground and while she dances, it seems to always at least brush the ground, and at times, just hover above the ground... that means she's bending at least 12"!! consistently!! while looking so graceful and effortless.... i never tire of watching this!
