Donkey Kong Country 2 102% Part 01: Gangway Garbage

I got temporarily bored of playing Mario games, so I decided to do this instead! It's all recorded, so the whole game should go up within three weeks.

This is 102% mode, activated through the Cheat Mode on the New Game Select screen. Press down 5 times from "2-Player Contest" to activate Sound Test, then 5 more to activate Cheat Mode. From there, press B A Right Right A Left A X to activate the code. In 102% mode, all DK barrels are removed, but you start each level, with a couple of exceptions, with both Kongs. Playing a Bonus Barrel minigame will also restore both Kongs upon success or failure.

In normal play, getting all of the secrets is worth 101% on the title screen, but playing with BARRALAX raises the final score to 102%. Hence the title.

In this episode, I pwn all of Gangland Galleon, the first world, through liberal use of Warp Barrels!

DarthMohawk, I gotta ask ya's: What do you think of Rayman?

@RaxusCarnelli I have no opinion, as I've never played any Rayman title. From the little I've read about it in old Nintendo Power issues, though, I may consider learning to see if it might be a good play. (I seem to remember it being a lighter-hearted title.)

@DarthMohawk1 Well, In terms of Difficulty:

Rayman One is BRUTALLY DIFFICULT. Only for Masters of Sidescrolling.

Rayman 2 is Average, although getting all the lums is a serious pain in the ass.

Rayman 3 is well rounded, a good game for any gamer or Rayman fan.

Ahh DKC2. Probably one of my favorite super nintendo games and my favorite of the 3. I heard about BARRALAX but i never tried it since I believed i should at least beat the game normally. And i never beat it 100%. I always missed a bonus coin or two somewhere in the later levels of the game and gave up looking for them. Although i really like the boss music in this game and a few of the others levels. But i will say that DKC1's water levels, still the best looking of the series water levels.
