Most likely that ghosting is due to sensor scanning and digital file compression processes.

Never hurts to just let the camera roll looking up now and then. Great Catch!! .....maybe the trailing image is another rod like thing or light reflecting off of it back up to the right. It looks as if the light source is on the left. The reflected angle would be off to the right somewhere. Great Video!! thanks for posting!!!
