  • Ronnie James Dio also played a trumpet in his early years. I read somewhere that Ronnie attributed his powerful singing technique to all the years playing the trumpet (because of the breathing control it taught him. I wonder is that also why Geoff's voice was so strong and powerful especially on the early albums.
