@zzausel Abuse is putting your short haired dog outside in Northwestern Canada in winter with no protection. Yesterday the daytime high was -26C and that is not counting windchill. Be glad you don't know what you are talking about by calling me insane!

@maxjones811 This was the very first time she had the booties on. She has since gotten used to them and walks (and runs joyfully) with them on. We live in a brutally cold climate where putting her outside with protection is cruel and inhumane. In winter we put her booties and a sweater. The road salt is also terrible for her pads.

If any of you who are making judgmental comments actually lived where we do, you might change your tune. Our dogs need protection from the brutal cold and road salt in Northern Canada. I wouldn't spend money on booties "just for fun" they are necessary.

@maxjones811 Dog boots are not cruel. Whats cruel is not protecting your dogs feet from elements that could very severely harm their pads and paws and make it awkward even painful for them to walk.

i have a Dachshund, and right now its winter, when the wind shield is REALLY cold. my dogs feet dont last long at ALL and he ends up walking funny ( lifting his foot) and repeats with the others.. and once he cant stand it, he Yelps! like crazy (its scary) and ends up on his back. there for i had to buy little boots for him. he doesn't like wearing them atm. but 20 minutes a day will get him used to them. i do this because i love him .<3

@maxjones811 Gah, please THINK about it for a sec...The dog, who as a dog is not familiar with the feeling of clothes, feels that his feet are sticking in something, That is why he is lifting them so high to get out of the "imaginary mud" or whatever he interprets it as. If you never wore clothes, they'd feel uncomfortable to you, too. But salt and stones require soles for dog and human, it is different in a natural environment.

SHE IS SO CUTE, OMG, OMG, TOO CUTE!!! My Bernie loves how loud he sounds while wearing his booties, he gets all frisky and runs around; sounds like a stampede of horses, lol.I admit to dressing him up for fun, his Steeler's jersey is for show only but the booties were to protect his feet from all the broken glass in the mountain areas, it's not cruel or inhumane, it's called being responsible and protecting from harm, that which you hold dear.
