went and saw this high, when these opening credits started i thought i was losing my shit.

The way they shot it was with a rig of three cameras mounted side by side. Each one head a different lens that goes from a 25mm to a 10-to-the-36th-power millimeter. They shot 45 different camera perspectives for the scene and edited it.
Pretty impressive!

@Zitterfurz I don't think you understood the making of correctly, 10 to the 36th power millimeter lenses are pretty hard to find :)

Called fractal zoom, they did the compositing in NUKE, but I am sure you could do it After Effects- amazing camera work and motion graphics. The movie was awesome too! Bravo Neil Burger!
