lol there are no refunds. your player still works..there just aren't any new releases coming to it. there are quite a few hd-dvds still existing. i still watch the hd-dvds that i have.

yeah a simple DVD will play. but when you put an HD-DVD in, you have to have the HD-DVD drive. it won't play in the 360.
