Anyway, I have two Nikon DSLR's and have been very happy with both.

There are a ton of reasons for choosing either camera, most of them personal. I just got a D5100, but I would have liked to get a D7000 - price was a big factor. For my needs, the extra cost was hard to justify even if the D7000 is a better camera. If cost was no object, I would have one of each and a D700, too... I also have a D40 and three 1980's-vintage 35mm Canon's. They're all good cameras. No need to slap each other around about this - it is up to the individual.

Currently, there is another very practical reason why to choose the D5100 over the D7000: availability. Apparently, flooding at the Nikon plants in Thailand have caused that at least both in Europe and East Asia new D7000s are hard to come by. Even if you get lucky and can find one, the price will be higher than a year ago. D7000 is surely better, but D5100 is identical where it really counts - the sensor.

@SAINT8889 I can take pro level photos with my Nikon P90 ! But you're right. Why not the D3100 ?

The D5100 is a nice ENTRY level camera. The D7000 is a MID level camera...
And it's Nee-kon, not knigh-kon..

d7000 is the best crop sensor camera

If you're so much into video maybe you should consider investing in a video camera.
The D7000 has 1080p too, the tilty-swively screen isn't necessary, HDR is crap and the D7000 still has bracketing, night vision? Are you fucking kidding? You know nothing about cameras. Does it have a weather proof magnesium alloy body? Does it have two SD card slots? Does it have a top LCD screen? Does it have an AF motor? Does it have 39 AF points? Does it have two control dials? It doesn't have any of that! Also, the D7000 doesn't have a ton of effects for kids. The D7000 is a serious DSLR.
