Practicing some concepts I learned in a book i just read. Very very challenging.
The chord progression was from the jazz standard Someday My Prince Will Come. I'll probably try Autumn Leaves or All The Things You Are next time.

This is the first time i made a video of me with the recorded music as the main audio of the vid. I used Cakewalk Sonar for the audio recording, my Olypus digicam to record the video, and ULEAD Video Editor to mix them up.

Sounds like I need to practice more on my tempo and intonation on the upright bass. hehe... :D

  • im sorry but you are out of tune ;[

i think thats the hardest thing in playing upright bass, changing positions and staying in tune, im stuggling with that myself. but it looks like a nice exercise, maybe its better to play it slower.... (im trying to play an adapted version of moto perpeuto and i still cant make it after a month)

  • @mitb0r thanks for the comment. yeah, intonation is one thing i've been working on constantly. hopefully my next few videos will show signs of improvement. thanks man :D

  • What book was that? I need that book!!! Another two years and I'll THINK about posting my ContraBass... Your sounding hot dude Very nimble too

  • Good solo exercise, congratulations!

I have tthe book too, and I like very much all Marc's solos. Very consistent and beautiful!! Try to play the solo he does on "night and day".

    Regards!

  • @o9723064 : thats why i love bas players, because EGO is secondary! ;]

anyway, i wish you good luck in improvement and i hope to see some videos of you later on! and hopefully i will also upload some videos of my playing DB and not just bass guitar...

    greets

  • Sounds good man! Keep practicing!

  • Thanks! :D

i used a SURE SM57 about a foot away from the E-string side f-hole. it's not the best mic for the job but it still sounds ok :D

  • that sounds very good!
