I have tthe book too, and I like very much all Marc's solos. Very consistent and beautiful!! Try to play the solo he does on "night and day".

anyway, i wish you good luck in improvement and i hope to see some videos of you later on! and hopefully i will also upload some videos of my playing DB and not just bass guitar...

i used a SURE SM57 about a foot away from the E-string side f-hole. it's not the best mic for the job but it still sounds ok :D

im sorry but you are out of tune ;[
i think thats the hardest thing in playing upright bass, changing positions and staying in tune, im stuggling with that myself. but it looks like a nice exercise, maybe its better to play it slower.... (im trying to play an adapted version of moto perpeuto and i still cant make it after a month)

@mitb0r thanks for the comment. yeah, intonation is one thing i've been working on constantly. hopefully my next few videos will show signs of improvement. thanks man :D

its CONCEPT FOR BASS SOLOING by Chuck Sher and Marc Johnson. its a good book that you're gonna have long hours practicing on :D thanks for the comment :D

thanks! i used a SURE SM57 directly to my Behringer Xenyx mixer. im looking for a better mic for the job though.
