We had a magical moment on the Abe Kanan Show 1/31/2013. Tom Dotterer, who's known around Syracuse, N.Y., as the 77-year-old baseball coach at Christian Brothers Academy and the longtime owner of Salina Liquors and Wine was shot in the face during a robbery. After an interview with James Gaddis from WSYR in Syracuse, Thomas said that the worst thing to happen to him that week was WWE wrestler CM Punk losing to the Rock at the Royal Rumble. We got Punk and Tom on the phone together and it was awesome! Tom is a true inspiration! Thanks to our buddy CM Punk for calling in and surprising Tom! Take a listen...
Listen to Abe Kanan Show on SiriusXM Howard 101. Live Thursday's and Friday's 8-11PM(EST).

LOL Midcard Champ?! CM Punk was one of the best WWE Champions in the modern era, especially as a face. And trust me: hes a better Champion than The Rock.
Because the difference between CM Punk and The Rock is that Wrestling is CM Punks life and The Rocks life is based on money and fame.

They only had him hold that belt so his fans can stop bitching, oh yeah they def got behind him, playing second fiddle to a diva's storyline..oh that's 5 star classic stuff. he became a transitional champion towards the end, WWE didn't even think twice on Punk retaining at the rumble. on Punk's waist, that championship was simply just a belt, and they made him look like a complete bitch after turning heel, that's def backing him up..oh yeah(sarcasm).

Firstly, not a Punk fanboy. Secondly, I realise you didnt say that management hated him, that was exaggeration for emphasis. You did however say that management never got behind him, yet he held the title for over a year. That just doesnt add up.#
Cena will always be the epicenter of the show due to how much merchandise he sells to the kids. The kids love him and as its now a "family oriented" show, they are going to pander directly to that.

I didn't say they hated him, I said that they don't take him seriously. They treated Cena and to an extend, Ryback like big time champions while Punk became irrelevant in the middle of his reign, you punk fanboys may think in your imagination that he was the center of the show, but in fact.. he wasn't.. ironically..not until his feud with Rock started back up pre-royal rumble.

So instead of holding the title for about 1 and a bit years, he wouldve only held it for 1 year. Yeah I see what you mean, they clearly HATE him.

You do know they originally wanted him to drop the strap to Ryback a few months back but didn't because Ryback is currently getting pushed to the moon right?, he's kept that belt on him only so he can drop it to the rock, there is no denying that.

If Vince never got behind Punk as a champion, why would he have him hold the title for near to a year and a half, beating John Cena several times along the way. I realise that Cena is the WWEs golden ticket right now, but to say that Punk wasnt liked by the owner is ridiculous.

I've never been a fan of CM Punk but I came across this story randomly and it shed a whole new light on the man for me. I have a whole new level of respect for the man outside of his wrestling character. Definitely a class act.

I didn't mean entertainment wise, I meant ratings wise. Viewership constantly drops during Big Show, Sheamus, Del Rio and Otunga segments, whilst it rises massively during Punk segments. Punk segments have more or less saved the show for the last year, at least according to ratings (facts).
Just wanted to point that out to the idiot who said he doesn't draw, when he's their hottest non-part time commodity that isn't John Cena.
