I can't believe I never saw the 20th Century Fox logo connection. Holy crap.
-
XD No. Eric Satie wasn't as tall as Leder. Apart from looks, the two have pretty much nothing in common.

Nice video. I don't get why you mentioned that Mother 3's version of Mr. Saturn's theme was based on EarthBound's Mr. Saturn theme. That was kind of a given.

For some reason the mother 3 mr.Saturn theme sounds more Russian.

I lol so hard at 3: 37

@MrRage71 Both guitar solos have the same beginning.

At saint-Saen's concert..did you see the one with the little girl? what a talent!

I'm sure somebody already said it, but you missed one of Family Matters. Beethoven's 6th symphony mov. 1 I believe

I love how Leder looks like Eric Satie.

The only one that I feel there's no connection between are the Fox and Utopia themes.
-
I loled at Fox's theme

Also, the Godzilla reference went completely over my head when I played through the game.
The main motif for the Pokey and the Pigmask army sounds like it is based on Shostakovich Symphony 5, movt. 4: /watch?v=ogJFXqYEYd8 . They aren't the same, but I hear the allusion. Let me know if you agree.

Hmmm... the motive is quite similar. However, seeing as the first three ascending tones of the minor mode are a common basis, it's unlikely a reference. Besides, the significance of a motive lies in its treatment and development throughout a piece; Shostakovitch's Symphony and the Pigmask Theme differ in such a respect.
Though it isn't as far-fetched as the majority of references in this video. :P

There are 12 notes and hundreds of thousands of songs, there are bound to be similarities between them. Though if you want to get technical there are 18, but A# and B flat both share the same key. Interesting vid by the way.

If you want to get technical, there are millions of songs, concerti, sonatas, symphonies, fugues, opera's, musics utilizing different tuning systems, non-Western musics etc., etc., ETC. Of course there are going to be similarities between them! However, there is more to these references than simply TONES! Consider harmony, rhythm, style, genre, treatment of motives and form, etc,.
Also, no, there are 12 TONES withing our most common tuning system. Key =/= tones.

@Vonyco when I was referring to key I meant the key on the piano. I should have worded that a different way.

No problem. It's understandable. ;D
I apologize if what I said was either harsh or lacking thoroughness; there's only so much that can be said within such short comments!
While some of these references may be coincidence, many of them, most certainly, are not! As I said, there is more to the similarities between the pieces than mere melodic tones.
