This is what happens when a poet writes a song and has some massively talented musician friends. This is a philosophical trip down memory lane. I wrote the lyrics in 2004. Jon wrote the guitar part and did the melody. We recorded the song at Grey Havens Studio in Enid, Oklahoma with the awesome and talented Grey. He transformed a little acoustic piece into what you hear now. Both he and Mikey Harbour did synth parts, Grey put a bass part to it, and Mikey added drums. Enjoy!
"Last Chance Disaster" features Jon Carrube (vocals), D. Lang (vocals), Mikey Harbour (drums, synth), and Grey (guitar, synth, bass). Recorded at Grey Havens Studios, Enid, Oklahoma.
Lyrics:
Last Chance Disaster
Coffee shops and cigarettes
Ramen noodles. How could I forget
Napping down at the laundry mat.
Speeding down the dirt roads past
a hurricane of silent memories.
(a hurricane...)
Staying out 'til 3 AM
Forgetting every place we've ever been.
Skipping class and ditching work
Running from everyone with a smirk
Shouting "just forget me!"
(Shouting...)
It's a last chance disaster
Dream again with a whirlwind in my brain
Speed it up. Won't go any faster.
Scream again and bury all your pain.
No direction in this life
A thousand philosophies of strife
Hide the pain inside your cup
Drink it down, time to give up.
Don't you dare give them your glory.
(Don't you dare...)
