Another old timer "Sherlock Junior" played by Bob Bury on the Allen GW4 (4/33), designed by George Wright and voiced superbly by Walt Strony. Let me know your favorites!

  • Hey Bob, Can I ask a huge favor from you?

I am extremely interested in hearing the classical side of these awesome organs. Their theater side, but never their classical side.

Do you think you could make a video demonstrating that?

There are so many fine videos of people playing pieces of music on these instruments, but no demonstrations. Going through the stop families and percussions and stuff.

It would bring me great joy in actually seeing a demo of this fine organ!

    Thank you!

  • @Brandotuomikoski - Hi, this model, the George Wright Model doesn't have a real classical side. The latest 4 manual Model, the Walt Strony STR4 does have a classical side with Skinner voices. Here is Thom playing a classical hymn on the theater voices. The Skinner side of the organ has yet to be properly. Hope this helps.

  • Beautiful.

  • @shorttim77 Oh. I did not know that. For some reason I thought it did....

Thanks for sharing the video of the STR4, For being mainly a theatre organ it has a very respectable classical side.

  • Beautiful performance, Bob! Brings back nice memories of chats and letters exchanged with Lee Erwin many years ago.

  • Nicely done! Beautiful instrument! Amazing what technology can do!

  • Fantastic piece of kit and wonderful playing... I wonder if my piggy-bank can stretch that far. What's the price of these instruments? I'm guessing it'll be quite a few 10s of thousands.
